Week 47: The Joy of Adelineđź’•

A few weeks ago, after a long hot day, Sister Minaker and I continued down a road to be able to turn around in our car. We both look at the street sign that we passed and sister Minaker said, "I know this road! Why do I know this road? Sister we need to be on this road!" I said "I don't know, it might be on our board and you're right, it feels like we should be here!" We park on the side of the street and check on the different people on that road or in that area, we talked to one person just briefly, asked if their neighbor was home and he didn't know...

Fast forward to a week ago, we go back to this person's home. They had met with missionaries a couple of years in the past so they are familiar with us! We knock of the door, 2 dogs are going crazy and barking at the door and it took a pretty long time 'til anyone came to the door we had to knock a few times.. a woman comes to the door and said wow there are sisters in this area now? She explained that she has had male missionaries a long time ago come and have long discussions with her husband! And they eventually never came back.

They also have the cutest 7 month old (about) rescue puppy! Cutest little thing ever! So far this contact was going well, Then her kids start to come towards the door, they are just playing around. the little boy comes and said, "look mommy, I found a worm!! I named it Joey!" He leaves and she says," I'm so sorry about that", hahah! Seriously so far, so great! Then her daughter comes right out side and says, as she runs to hug us both, "COME INSIDE!" Kids are so close to the spirit! I love it so much! We were about to head out after she had invited us for dinner sometime, and Adeline, her daughter says, "COME INSIDE!" her mom says, "honey they will be back soon, they will come for dinner!" And knowing that her daughter is autistic, I melted! We went back a week later and we were able to see them all again. I have never had so much love for a family in my life!! What precious souls they are! Adeline ran up to hug us again when we came! She did our hair while we were playing with the puppy! She holds our hands and pulls us outside to play with her!

I want to be more like Adeline.

Thank you Heavenly Father for the promptings of the Spirit to find this family! <3

Always love,

Sister Chaffin!
